Before & After
Here is how the hair looked like before and after application of henna and Indigo.

Step 1: Prepare Henna paste and Indigo paste (separately) then Mix them together.
What you will need
- Organic Henna Powder
- Organic Indigo Powder
- Water (warm temperature)
How to Prepare Henna Paste
- Take 2 to 6 table spoons of henna powder and mix with warm water. You can use more if you have long and thick hair.
- Allow the paste to sit for 2 to 3 hours for dye release. That's how long henna takes to release its dye. Make sure the paste is of yoghurt consistency (not too thick and not too runny).
How to Prepare Indigo Paste
- After your henna paste has released its dye; in a separate bowl, take 2 to 6 tablespoons of Indigo powder and mix with warm water.
- Allow dye to release for 15-20 minutes.
- Ensure the paste has the consistency of yogurt.
Combine the two Pastes in one bowl
Once the Henna paste and the Indigo paste are both ready, mix them together. Make sure you mixed them on a 50:50 ratio. This means the amount of Indigo paste should be equal to the amount of henna paste.
Apply the Combined paste of Henna and Indigo on your clean hair
Apply the henna and Indigo paste to your clean (damp or dry) hair by sections starting from the front and moving towards the back, from tips to roots. It is advisable to wear gloves when applying henna, because it will stain your hands.
Let the paste sit on your hair for 2-3 hours then rinse it off.
After rinsing you will notice that your hair is dark brownish in colour. And if you have gray hair, some of your strands will have highlights of maroon.
Step 2: Prepare and Apply Indigo paste
Follow the procedure of preparing Indigo paste as outlined on Step 1.
Once the paste is ready, apply it generously on your hair, and if you have gray hair, concentrate the paste on your gray hair strands.
Leave the paste on for 2-3 hours then rinse it off.
After this step, your hair will be black!
You can repeat this process anytime you notice growth of new hair that needs reapplication.
