On the 3rd of February 2018, we made our first official sale and there has been no looking back since. We have been true to the promise of ‘Everything Ayurveda’ and have served many happy clients through out this period. Our focus was, and still remains, to ensure that we provide organic products of the highest quality to our hair care, skin care and health enthusiastic customers.

When the two founding partners Miriam and Okonda decided to start Mara Organics, it was because of two major reasons; One was obviously to make money and the second reason was to fulfill a niche need. There was a growing demand in Ayurvedic powders among natural hair enthusiasts and surprisingly, almost no supply. That was an opportunity worth exploring.

The start of our company owes a lot to the fact that Miriam decided to go natural. She big chopped towards the end of 2016, meaning she was a naturalista for the rest of 2017. During that period, her enthusiasm of natural hair care flared up. She researched extensively and explored different techniques; entertaining varying schools of thought and ideas in an attempt to grow her natural hair long, thick and healthy. While watching natural hair videos one day, she stumbled upon a video by Curly Proverbz, a famous natural hair youtuber, who talks a lot about Ayurvedic hair care and she was amazed. She immediately wanted to try out those Ayurvedic products but getting local suppliers was a challenge. That led to the birth of Mara Organics.
