Mara Organics Jamaican Black Castor Oil (JBCO) is a rich, deeply conditioning oil made from roasted Ricinus communis seeds. Known for its thick, luxurious texture, JBCO is a favourite in traditional hair-care routines for dry hair, scalp massage and moisture sealing. Its naturally rich composition helps coat the hair strands, reduce the feeling of dryness and improve the appearance of softness and shine. It is especially useful for curly, coily and textured hair that benefits from extra moisture retention. Beyond haircare, this versatile oil can be used on dry skin areas, brows and lashes as a conditioning treatment. Because JBCO is naturally very thick, a small amount goes a long way—apply sparingly and adjust according to your hair and skin needs.

Ingredients
  • 100% Pure Jamaican Black Castor Oil (cold-pressed from roasted Ricinus communis seeds).
Hair Care
  • Scalp Moisture: Helps nourish and moisturise dry-feeling scalps, supporting a more comfortable scalp environment.
  • Dry Scalp Support: Provides rich conditioning care for scalps that feel dry, tight or flaky.
  • Strand Conditioning: Coats the hair shaft to help reduce the dry, rough feel of hair strands.
  • Breakage Support: Helps improve hair softness and flexibility, which may reduce breakage caused by dryness and friction.
  • Moisture Sealing: Creates a protective oil layer that helps slow moisture loss from the hair.
  • Healthy-Looking Hair: Regular conditioning can leave hair looking shinier, smoother and more resilient.
  • Growth Environment: While JBCO is not a guaranteed hair-growth treatment, maintaining a moisturised scalp and reducing breakage can support the appearance of healthier, fuller-looking hair.
  • Edge & Lash Conditioning: Can be applied sparingly to brows, lashes and hair edges as a conditioning step.
Skin Care
  • Deep Moisturisation: Provides rich emollient care for dry, rough or moisture-depleted skin.
  • Dry Area Care: Ideal for elbows, knees, heels, hands and other areas that need extra nourishment.
  • Moisture Barrier Support: Helps seal in hydration when applied over damp skin.
  • Skin Texture: Regular moisturising can help improve the look and feel of rough, uneven-looking skin.
  • Scar & Dark Mark Care: Supports skin conditioning and softness, which may improve the appearance of uneven texture over time, but does not remove scars or pigmentation instantly.

  • Frequency: Use approximately 2–3 times weekly or adjust according to your hair’s moisture needs.
  • Hot Oil Treatment: Warm the oil gently, apply from roots to ends, cover with a cap and use gentle heat from a warm towel or dryer for up to 1 hour before shampooing.
  • Hair Ends: Apply a few drops to dry ends to help seal moisture and improve softness.
