Clove Essential Oil

Warm, spicy, and instantly recognizable—Clove Essential Oil is one of those oils that can transform the mood of a space with just a couple of drops. Distilled from clove buds (Syzygium aromaticum), it’s valued in perfumery and aromatherapy for its deep, cozy aroma and powerful presence in blends.

Because clove oil is high in eugenol, it’s also one of the essential oils that deserves extra respect: it can irritate sensitive skin if used undiluted, so safe dilution is not optional—it’s the whole point of using it well.

Use it to build comforting diffuser blends (especially with citrus and spice oils), or in very low dilution in hair/scalp or massage blends when you want a warming, stimulating “ritual” feel—always patch test first.

  • 100% clove bud essential oil (Syzygium
    aromaticum
    ).
  • Contains eugenol and other volatile compounds common to clove oil used in cosmetics/fragrance.

Benefits for Skin:

  • Used in fragrance rituals and “cleansing-feel” blends; best kept to very low dilution due to sensitization risk.

How to Use:

  • Maximum simple guideline: keep clove bud oil at 0.5% dilution for leave-on skin use (very low). A common reference point is roughly 1 drop per 10 ml carrier oil. [33]

  • Patch test before first use and avoid eyes/mucous membranes.

Benefits for Aromatherapy:

  • Creates a cozy, warming atmosphere in diffuser blends.

  • External use only. Do not apply undiluted.
